Rebuilding the church hall -reopened 2015

Back in 2011 the PCC recognised that we needed to make a big decision;  the church hall was a mess, the floor and roof were in serious need of attention and although the pre-school group were in residence, the need for constant (often expensive) work was clear, it simply was no longer an asset of the church as we could not use it to serve the church or wider community well.  We decided that we would have to be bold and in 2013 launched the appeal for £250,000 to rebuild and fit a flat in the roof so that we could raise income to make the hall sustainable for years to come.  The Pre School left in 2014, the hall was closed  and the works commenced.  There were concerns and the money was a huge target, but with perserveance, a little bit of knoweldge, a lot of hard work and the grace of God .... you did it!

In May 2015 the Bishop of Horsham blessed and dedicated the new hall which is once again able to be used by the church and church users as well as community groups and individual hirers.   Anyone wishing to hire the hall should contact the Vicar or Churchwardens, In recognition of the residential setting, the hall is not suitable for large parties, 18th or 21st celebrations.  The Wivelsfield Village Hall is still the main hall in the village for larger celebrations and their website is here

Thank you all for the support, our hall is now open and refreshments are being served after main services and the children sservice on the first Sunday of the month.   Sunday school has also recommenced, now that we have such a great facility.

We have some loans to pay off but the flat is let and income is now being generated.      Below are some pictures during construction and the news feed includes pictures of the dedication and re-opening by Bishop Mark in May 2015.

A Huge thank you to all who have raised funds and donated privately and for grants from : Lloyds Bank Community fund, Henry Smiths Charity, Haywards Heath Lions Club, Garfield Weston Foundation and All Churches Trust for your generous support of this appeal
